A great day for TCS Track at Messiah College today, in less than ideal conditions. The meet had been threatened with flash flood warnings and some throwing events were canceled. There was a steady rain until noon or so and then broke for most of the afternoon.
Our boys team won our division of 16 schools, scoring 118 points (the final tally may differ slightly); with second place coming in at 63. We won everything on the track from the 400 to the 3200, the long jump and triple jump. Spectacular breakthrough race for Dan Larrazabal, coming in fourth in the 3200 with 20+ second PR. Wins for Paul Sullivan (400, 800, Long Jump); Josiah Hanko (1600, 3200); Aaron Hanko (Triple Jump); seconds for Jonathan Campbell (Shot Put); Ben Smith (800); Aaron Hanko (1600). Jonathan Campbell was 4th in 200; 4th in 400; and Ben Smith was third in the triple jump. Our 4x2 relay was second and our 4x4 relay finished off with a strong win at the end of the meet. A great day.
Our girls team of three came in third overall out of the 16 teams in our division. Katherine Buckley ran a strong race for second in the 3200(!); Angela Martone was second in the 400, third in the 100 and 6th in the Long Jump. Tabitha Harris was just outside of scoring, taking 7th in the Long Jump and 400. We had other points that I will post when I get the full meet results.
