Trinity's boys team began the season with solid performances at the Ridgewood Pawloski Relays. Despite an early (hopefully not serious) injury to Ben Rumeau, we were able to compete in several relays, though not as many as we had hoped going in.
The 4 x 100 team finished 12th in 50.8. The team consisted of Gregg Abrahamsen, Ben Rumeau before the injury, Jonathan Tilli and Jared Freire.
Our Distance Medlay Relay team came in fourth in 11:33.8 (Ethan 1200 in 3:31; Jared Freire 400 in 55.5; Peter Smith 2:16 in the 800 and Jared Hanko in 4:41 for the 1600). A very fine early season effort for each. Jared Hanko took the baton in 9th place and ran us up to fourth.
Our 4 x 200 team ran 1:46.4 good for 12th place. The team was Gregg Abrahamsen, Jared Freire, Jonathan Tilli and Charles Cunningham, making his debut for the Trailblazers.
The team finished 8th in the 4 x 800 relay with a time of 9:25.5. Splits were approximately 2:15 for Ethan Prol, 2:29 for Stephen CHoi, 2:32 for Tim Justnes (who got a late start this season, so is just rounding into shape), and 2:13 for Peter Smith.
Finally, we took another 8th place in the 4 x 400 in 3:48.2. Splits were Jared Hanko 58.2, Peter Smith 57.2, Ethan 58.2 and Jared Freire 55.5.
The team returns to action Wednesday in a five-way meet at Blair Academy (the other teams are The Hun School of Princeton, Blair, Gill St. Bernards and Veritas Academy).
